Alicante: feast of San Juan (23 of June) To leap over bonfires while making a wish has become one of the best-known activities of the San Juan fiestas, which are probably most intensely celebrated in Alicante. One of the most characteristic events of the fiesta is certainly the official and children’s Cremá (setting bonfires alight) in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. The Mascletá, the famous firework game, is also one of the most exciting highlights of the fiestas.
